COMMUNITY LIAISON [click to download position description] Location: US, Mexico, Panama (qualified candidates would be employed from their current city of residence to handle assigned region in country of residence)
Compensation: Contract, Commission Based (training period); $30,000.00 - $40,000.00 plus Commission (post-training) Position Summary:A Community Liaison is the face of our organization in the assigned community. This position is principally responsible for regionally establishing and maintaining relationships with the business, non-profit, education, and public policy stakeholders of a community. This work primarily takes place via the promotion and cultivation of membership for our International Community Development Network (ICDN) with community organizations, businesses, K-12 schools, universities, school systems, as well as local, state and federal government agencies. A Community Liaison oversees all community relationships on behalf of the organization and ensures a strong and consistent community identity for the organization. The position’s primary responsibility on behalf of the organization is the recruitment, retention, and participation of ICDN membership in the assigned community.
Responsibilities:
Recruitment, Retention, & Participation of ICDN Membership · Oversees, manages, and conducts the ICDN recruitment campaign in community · Formulates and executes the strategy for recruitment, retention, and participation of ICDN membership within the assigned community · Maintains relationships with potential members in person and via telephone · Writes and gives presentations to a wide variety of potential members via phone and in person · Monitors and reviews communication strategies with existing ICDN membership · Works with the various community organizations, businesses, K-12 schools, universities, school systems, as well as local, state and federal government agencies to meet recruitment and retention goals
Community Relations · Identifies opportunities for partnership and development of relationships which could be of mutual benefit · Creates a strong brand for the organization and significantly increases awareness of Cimientos in the community · Develops an effective community media relations strategy to cultivate positive relationships with community media
Qualifications:
· A genuine interest in the development of community · Undergraduate degree (preferred) or relevant work experience · Strong project management skills · Ability to communicate effectively with a large diversity of stakeholders via phone, one-on-one, in small groups and with large audiences · Ability to represent the organization well, and become fully knowledgeable about the organization to interpret it to others · Basic knowledge in one of the following fields: business/non-profit, communication, education, public policy · Experience with either customer/membership, community, or public relations · Ability to communicate with and gain support from staff
Special Considerations: · Responsibilities for the management of the Community Liaison would remain under the direct authority of the President & CEO in coordination the Executive Vice President of the organization. · Responsibilities to underwrite the operating expenses associated with community area travel, hotel, gas allowances, meals, etc. would remain the responsibility of the Community Liaison until post-probation period. · Probation concludes once Community Liaison has met all conditions and recruitment requirements of the employment agreements and stipulations.
