ICDL: [Overview] [Initiative Model] [Projected Benefits] [Candidate Cities]
ICDL comprehensive benefits
The ICDL sets out to bring together the key citizenry and stakeholders in business, education, civic organization, and government from communities worldwide to discuss and design paths for future development. This endeavor is expected to yield significant information as to the community development needs around the world, particularly in the recent times of economic crisis. While the focus of the endeavor is international in scope, the initiative is intended to also yield significant development benefits at the local, organizational, and individual level. Participant BenefitsParticipants will have the opportunity to gain exposure to a wide range of viewpoints, both in relation to your community and to a variety of other issues. The ICDL should be looked upon not merely as an exercise in plan development, but also as an opportunity to build new relationships and gain new perspectives.
The very process of attending the ICDL will provide participants with a sense of being more closely tied to your community and will ensure those individuals that their concerns are being heard and addressed. The “Community On-Line” accountability program in particular would reinforce this understanding.
The philosophies and ideas that guide the ICDL are applicable to aspects of everyday community life. It is the goal of Cimientos & Structure that participants will apply these philosophies to other communities in which they are involved, whether that might be a small business, school system, or other type of institution. In this way, participants can begin to become effective catalysts for development in all the communities in which they take part. Organizational BenefitsThe Integrated Strategic Plan that emerges from the ICDL will be the product of a varied assortment of perspectives and will be a more inclusive and dynamic document. Participants at every level will feel a sense of ownership in the plan. All the individuals who helped create the program will have a vested interest in seeing it succeed.
Communication throughout the community will be strengthened, and bonds will develop between levels of the community that would normally have little exposure to one another. The program will also increase participant awareness of the manner in which actions of a particular Core affects the whole. In short, all of your community will enjoy an increased level of unity and a fuller understanding of how the community functions together.
The sense of community fostered during the two-day program will provide the foundation – the cimientos – not simply for an Integrated Strategy Plan, but also for strong, healthy future planning, and growth. The principles espoused by Cimientos & Structure can continue to benefit your community long after the end of the program. Community BenefitsIt is the firm belief of Cimientos & Structure that the establishment of a strong sense of community will bring considerable benefits to the larger communities of which you are a part. Individuals who have taken part in the ICDL will now be dedicated to community building and integrate it into their daily interactions, laying a strong cimientos and structure in any community of which they are a part. In essence, it is our hope that the philosophies and principles Cimientos & Structure’s ICDL fosters will radiate out and strengthen the participant community.
